Virtual Mental Health Care For Kids & Families

Brightline

Healthcare

When you or your child face mental health challenges, think of Brightline as your trusted partner in parenting. Whether it’s virtual therapy, psychiatry, or coaching, they provide your family with affordable and accessible support. After successfully expanding nationwide, Brightline encountered challenges with their user experience, technology, and design, while ensuring everything remained HIPAA compliant. They partnered with S—E Studio to envision, build, and maintain their online presence, while subtly evolving their existing identity.

The website was reimagined with new user journeys, streamlining both content and navigation throughout.

Our approach focused on making the site more intuitive and user-friendly by enhancing existing components and interactions, while also modernizing Brightline’s identity.

The updated design was shaped by agility and functionality, while still aligning with and building upon their existing brand guidelines and marketing assets.

The new technology was designed to make the website lighter and more powerful, ensuring best practices, faster loading times, and smooth performance. We began by updating the codebase to the latest version and identifying any components in the existing technology stack that were not HIPAA compliant.

Next, we upgraded the framework to utilize lightweight React server components, reducing the JavaScript load for a faster and more versatile site. Key components were redesigned to be more customer-focused, providing an agile, interactive tool that allows Brightline to expand their reach as marketing priorities evolve.

Midway through the project, Brightline partnered with the state of California to offer free mental health care services to all residents.

We needed to launch the Brightline Kids website ahead of the corporate site, using the latest technologies while ensuring compatibility with the outdated existing site.

The challenge was to merge two sites built upon different languages without compromising functionality.

We implemented a phased approach, starting with gradual updates to less critical sections to ensure no disruption. After thorough testing, both sites operated smoothly together.

Finally, we launched a new version of the corporate site, delivering a lean, responsive, and efficient experience across both platforms.

Given the sensitive nature of healthcare data, it was crucial that every aspect of the websites complied with HIPAA regulations. The solution needed to be both sophisticated and agile, while also powerful enough to provide the client with valuable insights into user behavior, traffic sources, and conversion rates.

The newly implemented technology stack not only provides Brightline with access to previously unreachable data, but also ensures the secure handling and protection of sensitive patient information.

The Brightline and Brightlife Kids websites launched in early 2024, but websites are not meant to remain static. We designed both the backend and frontend components to support growth and adapt as the brand’s needs evolve over time.

Something Else has become an ongoing development partner for Brightline and Brightlife Kids, leveraging our deep understanding of their business. This allows us to help refine their web strategy, anticipate future needs, and ensure the sites are maintained and evolve with best practices in mind.
